Description

Been working on this witch for a bit. I realized I haven't really done anything non-commission for a LONG TIME and I really missed it. I find for some reason I always do things better when it's my own creation. I guess that should make sense. :p

Well, there's really not a whole lot to critique here, but there are a few things I'd like to point out!

Most notably, the bright colors of the skirt make it difficult to focus on the character's face. The skirt is the focal point of the image. The colors are adorable, and work well in the character's hair. Maybe choosing colors that are less 'hot' for the skirt would help bring the focus back to the character's face.

A little nitpick about the coloring - the folds of her purple shirt are very hard; it might look nicer to soften and blend the edges of those shadows.

Additionally, the anatomy of her right hand (our left) is mysterious, and the fingers seem to lack joints. The back three fingers are not as slim and feminine as the finger and thumb in the foreground, or as the fingers of the other hand.

Her feet are pretty small. It looks like her hands might be longer than her feet. I understand that style is somewhat of a factor, but I personally think it might be best to avoid feet that end up smaller than the hands. Even if it's not a guideline you're inclined to follow, be aware that the human foot is approximately the length of the forearm.

Last nitpick: Why does the image cut off just before the bottom of her foot? That's kind of distracting!

Overall, you chose colors that work well together, and you successfully created an image that is 'cute'.

Best of luck with your future projects!
